Corporate Archives Consulting Services

Creation of Archives (physical and virtual), Management (including preservation and conservation) and Exhibition (in different formats) are different aspects of the archival procedure which the Luminate team specializes in. Digital asset management, Mapping, Oral histories and corporate archives are the highlights of our services.

Heritage Monuments

Input in all stages of planning and execution of preservation of heritage and historical structures can be provided by the Luminate Innovation Centre. Our services cover on and offshore developments and are designed to assess and mitigate risks of these sites.Restoration and Conservation are key processes that the Luminate team specializes in.

Archaeological Consulting Services

If archaeological sites cannot be avoided or protected safely within the scope of development or construction, or for documentation of history, excavation is a method of preservation. The Luminate team offers strategy and methodology that documents a site as appropriately as possible whilst balancing commercial considerations.

Turnkey Research Projects

We undertake consultancy of projects, turnkey, which involve the setting up of research, archival, preservation laboratories or development facilities. From pre-planning surveys and site investigations, right through to mitigation excavations are all part of projects, the Luminate team undertakes.

The Africa Renaissance Project - An ongoing Tourism, Linguistics and Oral History Project

The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, in and after the 15th Century , saw millions of African peoples transported in slave-ships through the Atlantic Ocean to Europe and the Americas. This project portrays and brings to the fore the untold stories of countless s/heroes who gave up their life for the sake of freedom and identity. It also celebrates the lost or near extinct tradition and tales of Africa.

CCMT Archives - An ongoing Corporate Archives and Oral History Project

CCMT was established in India in 1953 and today the organization encompasses and conducts a wide range of educational, and charitable activities, enriching the lives of thousands in India and across the world.The trust in its archives, has hundred of thousands of books, publications, manuscripts and other personal artifacts which it preserves with expert advice from Dr. Ajay Prabhakar and the luminate team.

The Life and works of Olaudah Equiano - An ongoing Geneaology and Literary Project

This project studies and celebrates the life, the legacy and the work of Gustavus Vassa or Olaudah Equiano, the first slave to write his biography. Equiano was a great literary craftsman who wrote to successfully appeal to all segments of the society and his book was an instant bestseller. It was at the same time a slave narrative, a sentimental novel and an adventure story, but more than all that, an irrepressible abolitionist tool.

The Ikom Monoliths Project - An Ongoing Heritage Conservation and Tourism Development Project

The Ikom monoliths, (over 300 of them) are carved stones with enigmatic inscriptions that were discovered in the turn of the 20th Century, located in the villages of Ikom Local Government (and environs) in Cross River State Nigeria, left behind by ancient Africans dating back thousands of years. The CARC team headed by Dr. Ajay Prabhakar has been studying and enlisted the monoliths in the World Monument Fund 2008 Watch List of 100 Most Endangered Sites and brought spotlight on these pillaged pieces of culture.

Symbols, Cave and Ancient Writings - An Ongoing Linguistics and Archaeological Project

Extensive field research on ancient Rock Art in the West African environment, comparison and the technical analysis of the Monolithic writings in Ireland, namely the Turoe Stone, the Castlestrange Stone, the Newgrange burial mound and the Ikom Monoliths, is still being done by our team and it has found strong evidence that seems to suggest that they all refer to the same language that belonged to the Kwa linguistic family. Research is still ongoing.

An Ongoing Heritage Preservation and Conservation of Temples and Archaic Monuments

The Chinmaya Mission is guided by Luminate experts under the leadership of Dr. Ajay Prabhakar to document, preserve and conserve archaic monuments of Chinmaya Mission. The temples, some of which are several thousand years old and also the Adi Shankara Nilayam, the hallowed maternal birth home of the great saint and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya are being chronicled for posterity by the Luminate team.

Curriculum Curation - An ongoing curriculum creation project

In India, CIRS, the topmost residential school under its aegis of the governing body, which has more than 100 schools in the country, in order to rejuvenate and support the educational system unanimously voted Pioneers Nation, the sister company of Luminate, for curation of curriculum called Shaishav Shiksha which is going to be used in more than 100 schools throughout the country. The proprietary, critically acclaimed Pioneers Nation curriculum, developed by Dr. Ajay Prabhakar has become a norm in all academically inclined schools.

Women Empowerment and Emancipation Project - An ongoing project empowering women and encouraging participation in Decision making and Policy Planning and Formulation

Built on the auspice of empowering women, the Women Empowerment Project sensitizes women to actively participate in policy formulation and decision making. The former first lady of Nigeria, Dame GoodLuck Jonathan and Governor Chief Theodore Orji and his wife were hosts of the project. Modelling of Policies and Formulating are the important facets of the project.

Igbale Aiye, The Lost City - An ongoing Archaeological Project

Deep in the heart of Apkotokou forest in the border town of Ketou, Republic of Benin is Igbale Aiye, the archaeological site of our team.Tagged Renaissance Challenge Project, the promoters of the ancient excavated city led by Olofindji Akande, The Vizier, are convinced that such archaeological efforts will transform the stigma of slavery, which is believed to have stunted growth and the development of black nations, into huge wealth for the humanity, thus promoting rebirth of humanity, by the rebirth of Africa and her culture.

Igbo Ukwu - An Ongoing Archaeological Project

The ancient site of Igbo Ukwu is situated in the modern day homelands of Igbo people of southern Nigeria.The Igbo Artifacts which have been excavated here include jewelry, ceramics, a corpse adorned in what appears to be regalia, and many assorted bronze, copper, and iron objects. Some of these contain materials that are evidence of a long-distance trading system extending to Egypt and India. The luminate and CARC team is assisting and studying the research material which is coming out of this site.

Innovative Pedagogies and Learning Outcomes - An ongoing education project

A pet project conceptualized by Dr. Ajay Prabhakar, the Innovative Pedagogies Project did its pilot run, first in the school owned by the former President of Nigeria and the co-author of Dr. Ajay Prabhakar, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, El- Amin International schools Minna and Abuja. Being implemented in multitude of schools today, across the world and in India, under the aegis of Pioneers Nation, it has been applauded and approved in some of the top schools in the world.

Microsoft Grassroot Training Project - A Content Creation, Policy Formulation,Training and Sensitization Project

A project which was undertaken with United Nations and Microsoft, with the then President of Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to alleviate poverty and provide skill based training on a national level to youth which would result in meaningful employment for them. Dr. Ajay Prabhakar was responsible for creation of content, policy formulation and execution of the nation wide project. Piloted in states like Benue, Minna and the state capital of Abuja, the project was instrumental in creating more than 1800 jobs for youth in various sectors.

Founder and Chairman of Luminate Research and Innovation Labs

The team at Luminate Research and Innovation Labs is trained by Ambassador Ajay Prabhakar. Ambassador Ajay Prabhakar was until recently the Country Programs Coordinator for the United Nations. Dr. Ajay Prabhakar is a Researcher, Author, Educationist and Africanist. He is the author of 6 books, notable among them is The Gram Code, foreword of which was written by the former President of Nigeria,General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and They Lived, the research book which is being used as a textbook in many universities in the USA and UK. He also heads the CARC team of Researchers, Linguists, Anthropologists, Historians, IT specialists, Folklorists and Oral tradition experts who are working on multiple archives and archaeological projects in Africa, Europe and the USA. During his research in Europe, he has also worked with Qua Brainly Museum in Paris and other reputable museums and several universities in London, Amsterdam, Brussels and Germany, United States of America, notably the Howard University and the John Jay College. What are Archives?

Archives are places where records of all types and formats are kept and made accessible for research and other purposes. Records created or received by a commercial enterprise in the course of operations and preserved for their enduring value makes up business archives.

What is the difference between a Library and Archives?

The books in a library are often secondary sources of information, whereas the records in an archive are primary sources. Archives provide first-hand information or evidence relating to historical events or figures.

What do Archives look like?

These come in many forms such as letters, reports, minutes, registers, maps, photographs, personal or corporate artifacts, films, digital files, and sound recordings

Why should I choose to go for Archives (Personal / Company)?

Archives help preserve the legacy of the life of a Company and/or an Individual in a very structured and organised manner. The repository helps find patterns in a large pool of information which can aid research work too. It helps streamline access to important information and also makes things legible for various end users. We already have a database being maintained, do we still need to have archives?

Archives is about preserving the legacy for posterity and usually regular databases are not equipped to serve that purpose. Our team could carry out an investigative study and prepare a preliminary report to assess the need for archives as per observations made regarding current database maintained. You could choose to have us take up the project at your discretion after considering our suggestions made in the report.
